I am Christian Solorio, the son of immigrant parents and I have been a resident of the District for over 20 years. Growing up in poverty and experiencing housing instability, it inspired me to become an architect focused on building affordable housing for our most vulnerable community members. Today, I am a licensed architect and a proud product of public schools, including graduating from ASU as a first-generation college student. Throughout my career, I relied on informed decision-making in housing policy, land-use and zoning. Time and time again, I found myself crossing into other areas like education, the environment, the economy, and our healthcare systems to improve the overall health of our community. I began to get more involved in local community efforts outside of work. I became an Alhambra Elementary School Board member in 2019, and I was appointed to the state legislature in 2021. I serve on the board of directors for the Arizona Housing Coalition, Trellis Community Development and a member of the Alhambra Village Planning Committee. It’s an honor and a privilege to serve in this capacity. Since my appointment, I have introduced legislation for rent regulation, the expansion of the Arizona Housing Trust Fund, same day voter registration, electric school buses and additional measures. I’m committed to our community, and I’m here to listen to resident’s needs and work towards real solutions. For this election, I ask for your support.
